9–13 March, Ramūnė Motiejūnaitė, a lecturer at the Faculty of Education, delivered lectures at the Institute of Physical Education and Sport (IPES) at the University of Malta. This is the only university in Malta that impressed the lecturer with the students’ enthusiasm and engagement. Studies here last three years, and afterward, if a student chooses a career in education, they pursue a master’s degree. The first year of the master’s program focuses on early childhood education, and the second on primary education.
The lecturer delivered lectures to third-year IPES students, future physical education and sports specialists. R. Motiejūnaitė discussed with the university community the importance of physical activity in childhood, how to create new movements using non-traditional tools, and how to involve all children in physical activity. The students not only listened but also tried out various activities themselves. During the teaching visit, connections were established with the university’s institute, and potential joint activities on the topic of inclusive physical education were discussed. The teaching visit was funded by the Erasmus+ project.
